Birdwing Butterfly (♂)
Australia's largest butterfly (up to 20cm) captures attention with the beauty of its flashing green wings. Eggs are laid on the native rainforest vine Aristolochia tagala. Unfortunately, Birdwing populations are endangered because butterflies confuse the native vine with the introduced Dutchman's Pipe whose leaves poison the caterpillars.
